Reflection
Final Project Reflection
For my final project, I chose to incorporate hyperlinks and pictures to help spice up the look and set up of my blog post. I wanted it to be something that when people read, their eyes were drawn to specific spots or words on my page. I intentionally did an Instagram live stream so that I had a video piece associated with my project. It assisted in providing another link to along with others I already had. By do this, in my opinion, I utilize another tool to create interactiveness on my blog.
The research for this project was not so much information based because I was promoting my own brand, but more so looking up how to set up a live stream and end it appropriately. I didn't have to do much research on content because I was the sole creator of the content I was promoting; therefore, it was simple to complete thoroughly.
The writing part was hard in my opinion. I had never done anything like this before so when asked to come up with a blog that discusses my brand, I had to format the information from my fitness page to flow on written text (my blog). I had to make sure I also spoke about what my page featured in my live stream and podcast as well, making sure to not leave any media outlet out. I almost felt like I was triple repeating myself when it came down to it because I wanted each audience that listened, watched, or read, to fully understand what my Instagram fitness page was without having to backtrack. When writing outlines for my podcast, live stream, and blog, I didn't want to assume that my viewers had experienced each one, so I made sure to address what my fitness page was and what I chose as my content. My intent was to show you, Dr. Stern, that I was addressing all audiences because not everyone chooses to get content from the same source. I did it this way so that I wrote/ spoke in a way no one would have to go back and look up what they were watching, listening, or reading if they came upon my live stream, podcast, or blog.
The editing process was a learning experience for me. Never before had I live-streamed something on Instagram, so I was learning the ropes as I created this final project. I did however understand how to add hyperlinks to pictures and words already so that part was a breeze.
The opportunities that arose from this project were something I never dreamed of happening. I pat myself on the back for choosing to add a live stream as a part of the project because I received so much feedback from my followers it was insane. Before this project, I was just posting ever so often and getting maybe 15 likes on a picture. Afterward, I was receiving DMS, comments, and likes from people who I didn't even know. It was the perfect addition to my project and made me realize just how much being interactive can help with online content.
I enjoyed making this project and hope you enjoy grading it. I encourage you to check out my fitness page in-depth if you haven't already. It is something that is very important to me and something I love sharing. If I were to tell myself at the beginning of starting this project, I would tell myself to have already researched and done a test run of a live stream because I did not. It did however turn out fantastic for it being the first run of a live stream!
Thanks for everything you helped me with this semester, I hope you have a great rest of your summer!
